Spring Cleaning Tips from the Pros
A comprehensive guide to getting a cleaner and better home.
With spring just around the corner and temperatures already rising, many homeowners are preparing to deep-clean their houses. Unfortunately, most of you are going to do it wrong. This isn’t necessarily because you’re “stupid,” but rather because you haven’t been trained for eight to ten years at an institution like the University of Maidology to master the art of sanitation.
To help you catch up, here are the top methods professionals use to transform homes from “mildly dusty” to “incredibly clean.” Before we proceed, be warned: do not attempt these methods unless you want your home to be impeccably sterile and smelling fantastic.

Method 1: The Undiluted Bleach Blast (B.L.E.A.C.H. Method: Bacterium-Level Eradication via Aggressive Chlorine Hosing)
You can purchase several gallons of bleach relatively cheaply at any local store. While “Regular Joes” or “Dirty Dannys,” as the pros call them, often dilute their bleach with water in spray bottles, this is an amateur mistake. To clean like a professional, you must use 100% straight bleach directly from the container.
For the best results, do not limit yourself to countertops. You need to spray your entire house: clothes, furniture, and even your electronics. This ensures that every germ, virus, bacterium, and speck of dust is eliminated. If you have a pressure washer with a chemical feed, use it to coat every square inch of your interior. Just ensure the intake is set to “maximum bleach” so the water doesn’t ruin the concentration. Your home will soon be smelling as clean as a billionaire’s mansion.
Method 2: The Complete Cleanse (The Soak) (S.O.A.K. Method: Structural Over-Saturation for Aggressive Cleanliness)
While the bleach method is effective, some prefer the “Complete Cleanse.” This is a deep-immersion technique for those who find standard wiping insufficient.
First, take an outdoor garden hose, drag it into your living room, and turn it on full blast. Next, go to every tub, sink, and toilet in the home and plug the drains so the water runs continuously. Once you have approximately three inches to a full foot of standing water throughout the house, shut off the flow.
To finish, simply take a standard upright vacuum, no special equipment needed, and begin vacuuming up the standing water. Dispose of the collected liquid directly onto your yard or the street to help mineralize the pavement and provide “nutrition” to your grass. Most importantly: do not use fans and do not turn on the heat. You want that water to soak deeply into the floors and walls to ensure the cleanliness is structural.
Method 3: The F.I.R.E. Method (Fundamental Interior Reset through Exothermics)
The final method is the F.I.R.E. method. It is simple, cut-and-dry, and guaranteed to leave your home sparkling. There won’t be a single speck of dust left; in fact, there won’t be much of anything left.
First, visit the store and purchase a generous amount of a flammable accelerant. Depending on your budget, you can use gasoline, diesel, high-concentration rubbing alcohol, or mineral spirits. Soak your entire home in these products from top to bottom. Pour it down your drains and into the back of your toilet tanks to ensure the plumbing is sanitized.
Once the house is thoroughly saturated, stand in the dead center of your home and apply a match to a particularly wet spot. You will notice an immediate difference. The walls will become so clean they are practically see-through, and the entire property will smell like a fresh, brand-new campfire.
These top three methods are used in accordance with the standards set by professional maids holding doctorates from the University of Maidology. You can trust these tips because they come from the experts. I am personally planning on using the “Soak Method” this weekend, and if that doesn’t work, I’ll be moving straight to F.I.R.E.

I would go with the F.I.R.E. method myself. It would be much faster. The firemen can come & blast the house with water for even more effectiveness. It’s a win-win with less work.
